Breaking Labels

Part 1: Sarah's Story

Episode Notes

What does someone who's attempted suicide look or sound like? What does someone who has considered or gone through an abortion look like or believe in? Where do they come from? How were they raised?

Spoiler alert: there is no single 'look' or belief system but there ARE common threads of shame and isolation.  In this episode, you will hear part 1 of Sarah's story and the experiences that left her feeling so alone that death felt like the only option.

This episode is for anyone who has experienced thoughts of suicide, considered abortion, or wondered how or why anyone would go through either. We hope that if nothing else, people will feel less alone or more empathy after hearing this episode.

If you ever need someone to talk to, please call the Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-8255. It's free and open 24/7. You don't have to go through anything alone.
